LITTLE ROCK AR – July 20, 2023 – The Society for Education and the Advancement of Research in Connected Health (SEARCH) announces a new collaboration with the American Heart Association’s Center for Telehealth for the SEARCH 2023 National Telehealth Research Symposium in Philadelphia, November 7–9.

The American Heart Association is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. The American Heart Association’s Center for Telehealth will collaborate with SEARCH to disseminate connected health research to examine the benefit and effectiveness of telehealth and share outcomes and best practices at the conference.

“The American Heart Association’s Center for Telehealth and SEARCH share common priorities and interest in educating health care professionals about the latest research in telemedicine, eHealth, mHealth and other health care technologies,” said Lee Schwamm, M.D., an American Heart Association volunteer, senior vice president and chief digital health officer of Yale New Haven Health and associate dean of digital strategy and transformation at Yale School of Medicine. “Building on the Association’s proven record of converting evidence into practice and trusted reputation, this collaboration will work to advance the integration of telehealth into patient care through evidence-based research, improve professionals’ knowledge through continuing education, and expand dissemination of science through networking and education.”

SEARCH offers a variety of annual events each year for those researching in the field of connected health. The Society also operates free of commercial bias to examine the usefulness of telehealth. The new collaboration between SEARCH and the American Heart Association’s Center for Telehealth furthers this goal and encourages more collaborators to define and expand the field of connected health research.

“SEARCH is very excited to begin collaborating with such a respected organization that shares our enthusiasm for promoting unbiased research in the field of connected health,” says Vice President and Secretary, David Fletcher. “We look forward to working with their leaders and members to share the latest research and promote best practices within the industry.”
